Art and Design Courses

The Art and Design department offers a wide variety of courses to support multiple degree offerings. Please refer to pathway maps and talk to an Art and Design advisor about which courses and degrees support your career goals. Fine Arts courses may satisfy Humanities credits for the AA DTA degree. Courses are offered in multiple modalities including in-person, online, hybrid (combined in-person and online, and virtual. A complete list of classes we offer is available in the .

The Ampersand (&) Difference

ART& (Common Course Numbering): In Washington, some courses have the same number across all community and technical colleges. These are 鈥渃ommon courses.鈥� If a course from a different college has the same number and subject as 麻豆原创鈥檚, and an ampersand (&), then they鈥檙e considered the same course. They are designed to transfer seamlessly between these schools. Examples at 麻豆原创 include ART& 101 (Art Appreciation).
ART (麻豆原创-Specific): Courses without the ampersand are unique to 麻豆原创 College. While they still transfer to four-year universities (often under a Direct Transfer Agreement), they don't have a pre-matched course at every other community or technical college. Examples include ART101 (Design I: Two Dimensional) or ART105 (Introduction to Color).
