The Wellness Center is a 3,000-square-foot space containing cardio, strength, and flexibility training areas.

Cardio equipment includes: treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes. Strength equipment includes Cybex variable resistance machines, free weights, and dumbbells. The Wellness Center is used for Physical Education classes and is also available for open hours for student, faculty, and staff use.

Wellness Center is closed until Monday, September 28.

Fall 2026 Wellness Center Hours (Monday – Friday)

First Week of Classes (Sept. 28 – Oct. 2)

  • Mornings: Closed
  • Afternoons/Evenings: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Regular Hours (Oct. 5 – Dec. 14)

  • Mornings: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Afternoons/Evenings: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
The Wellness Center is closed on weekends, holidays, and whenever the college is not in session. Must be a student, staff, or faculty of the current quarter to access the Wellness Center.

 

About the Wellness Center

  • Only current Âé¶¹Ô­´´/CWU students/faculty/staff may use the Wellness Center.
  • Guests are not permitted in the Wellness Center.
  • All users must complete a waiver and PAR-Qprior to use.
  • All users must log in and log out at the Wellness Center front desk.
  • Only those logged-in and exercising are allowed in the Wellness Center.
  • No food or drink (except water) is allowed.
  • Users who are unwilling to adhere to Wellness Center Policies will be asked to leave.
  • Hours of operation are subject to change. The Wellness Center may close or adjust capacity due to staffing, maintenance, or safety needs.

Note: You must be signed into your Âé¶¹Ô­´´ account to complete these forms. If you have any heart conditions, you will need medical clearance to exercise at the Wellness Center.

Our Shared Space
The Âé¶¹Ô­´´ College Wellness Center is a shared space designed to support physical, mental, and social well-being. All users are expected to contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment by following all policies and demonstrating consideration for others.

Eligibility & Facility Access
  • Access is limited to current Âé¶¹Ô­´´ College and CWU students, faculty, and staff.
  • Guests are not permitted in the Wellness Center.
  • All users must complete a Wellness Center waiver and PAR-Q prior to use.
  • All users must log in and log out at the front desk during each visit.
  • Only individuals who are logged in and actively exercising are permitted in the facility.
  • Hours of operation are subject to change. The Wellness Center may close or adjust capacity due to staffing, maintenance, or safety needs.

Health & Wellness Expectations
  • Users should not enter the facility if experiencing symptoms of illness.
  • Staff reserve the right to deny access to individuals who appear ill in order to protect the health and safety of others.

Facility Expectations & Shared Responsibility
  • Follow all posted rules and staff instructions at all times.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted, except for sealed water bottles.
  • Equipment must be wiped down after each use.
  • All equipment must be returned to its designated storage area after use.
  • Equipment may not be moved, modified, or misused.
  • Personal items (bags, backpacks, coats, etc.) must be stored in designated areas and kept off the floor.
  • The Wellness Center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended personal items.
  • Personal audio must be used with headphones. Speaker use is not permitted.
  • During peak hours, users may be asked to limit time on equipment to ensure equitable access.

Member Conduct & Community Standards
  • All users are expected to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants.
  • Harassment, intimidation, or disruptive behavior is prohibited.
  • Any behavior that creates a safety risk to oneself or others is prohibited.

Safety & Equipment Standards
  • Clamps (collars) are required on barbells for all lifts, unless front desk staff is spotting/supervising your maximal lifts.
  • A spotter is strongly recommended for all barbell lifts and required for maximal attempts.
  • Weights may not be dropped unless the equipment is specifically designed for that purpose.
  • Damaged or unsafe equipment must be reported to staff immediately.

Photography & Privacy
  • Photography or video recording is not permitted without the consent of all individuals involved.
  • Recording that disrupts others or invades privacy is prohibited.

Emergency Procedures
  • In the event of an emergency, users must follow all staff instructions immediately.
  • Emergency equipment is available, and staff are trained to respond.

Dress Code (Safety Required)
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Clothing must not create a safety hazard, including risks of tripping or entanglement.
  • Clothing with large zippers, buttons, dangling straps, or belt buckles is not permitted.
  • Closed-toe athletic footwear is required.
  • Dress shoes, boots, high heels, sandals, open-toed shoes, and slip-on footwear are not permitted.

Enforcement & Accountability
  • Users who do not follow Wellness Center policies may be required to stop activity, correct the issue, or leave the facility.
  • Violations may result in progressive disciplinary action, including verbal warnings, removal from the facility, or suspension of Wellness Center access depending on severity or repetition.
